Hello fellow traders, here is my blog for my new primary savegame. Skywalker Dairy has taken secondary position to this one, which is on the West Texas map by The Great Lebowski. The FarmSimGuy on YouTube made a video tour of this map, and I was immediately hooked on it. It has a realistic town, fields shaped for pivot irrigation, a huge dairy operation which resembles our operation IRL slightly, and even a small state park to add some great scenery. I'm playing this map a little differently. 5x time, slow growth (which means NO Seasons), no crop withering, and I start with $15 million. This is mainly because its my fun save, and I don't want to start with 2 million dollars when I have a dairy facility with the capacity for 2400 cows lol! Here are some pictures of the silage coming in, along with the straw and TMR being given

The dairy is back! I managed to discover the conflict, which was a Global Company dryer from JS Mapping. It was designed for Flint Hills only, and usage on any other map would lead to the loss of sell points, which I had. Unfortunately I couldn't salvage the 20 hours of gameplay on the original savegame, but I simply moved over to a fresh savegame and used Easy Dev to bring back my stuff. And honestly, besides the pain of having to feed my cows again (I had enough TMR for a whole year before I lost the save), I think it came out better. I got to redesign my yard and add better machines in. The most noticeable trades were JHHG's 8R for Custom Modding's 8R, and Siid's Challenger MT975B for Karl Farms' AFS Connect Steiger 540. Here's the crew of tractors and trucks all lined up. Other notable additions were Seasons and Precision Farming. This meant that all the manure and slurry I got on the previous save needed to be planned a little better. I spread manure on the fields with pivots, since those were a new experience for me, and I want to figure out what their application rate will be when covering such a large area. Then came planting. April brought temperatures good enough to plant the sorghum and triticale. With the help of Courseplay, I got my sorghum field and triticale field planted and up to full nitrogen levels. Not super concerned about pH levels this year, as you will see soon pH is very tough to apply efficiently haha. Here is my lime setup. Now, it doesn't look like it's non-efficient, but the kick actually comes with the real mass mod. It makes that spreader so heavy that even with a 605hp beast pulling the spreader, it takes 30 seconds to get up to max working speed. Not going to spread too much lime this year haha. That's all the pictures for now, as I speak I'm preparing to plant sugar beets, a crop I haven't actually tried in FS, and the incredible sugar mill sell point on this map definitely merits a usage. Thanks for reading!

I'm glad you found what the issue was. nice pictures again. Good luck with the beets, lots of work but i like it a lot. good profit too. Did you see that Bryan has a sugar beet harvester to rent or lease?

I have found a few mods I might want to try, but not sure on them yet, so I'll definitely have to keep that lease option in mind!

I did a multiplayer session once with if i remember correctly 5 Holmer terra dos harvesters, 2 or 3 holmer terra variants to unload them and drop them all in a long pile and then a terra fellis to pick them up, wash them and load them in a bunch of trucks with big trailers. That was a lot of fun!
Edit: something like this:

On late spring now, and all crops are in the ground! Making good use of the multifruit map, triticale and sorghum each have a field, along with a corn field and grass field to continue supplying TMR for the cows (I buy straw from "other farmers" like we do IRL), and the 5th field went to sugar beets to shake it up a little. The 8345R and Great Plains got it all done in 4 days, might need to consider a tractor upgrade for fall planting. On the topic of buying straw, if you have any straw bales for sale, tag me in a listing in the commodity listings section, I am preparing to stock up!

I am in the middle of harvesting oats, wheat and barley on the western shore of the UK. If you haven't found any by then or maybe more local i could sell you some in a couple of days when i'm done with the harvest and the bailing. I'll probably have around 50 large (1.5 meter, 6000 liter) round bales for sale in case you are interested.

I'm set up mainly for square bales as far as a straw blower goes, but I really need straw, so I bet the bank balance could let an Anderson straw blower slip through haha. Let me know what kind of surplus you get, as long as they're here by mid spring I don't mind

I understand. Well i can probably make square ones too, but the total price will be a couple hundred more. My neighbor has an old square baler that i can borrow without a problem in exchange for a couple of pints in the pub next weekend but the problem is that i don't have a tractor with high enough horsepower. But what i can do is rent a tractor from Bryan for a couple of hours for $55 an hour. That might be a cheaper alternative to getting a new straw blower.

If it's square bales you need, I got a Case LB434R sitting at my farm I'm not using. I'll let you borrow it if you just handle transportation there and back.

Thanks Bryan for the offer, but i already borrowed my neighbors old Massey Ferguson baler. I don't have to rent a tractor either, turns out i had underestimated my Ford!
