AugustWell my first month at my new farm was a busy month harvesting 3 of my fields which had corn and oats in.
Field 5 (1.79hA) 29,149L of Corn Field 7 (1.94hA) 32,604L of Corn Field 8 (2.23hA) 11,411L of Oats
I found an old building in the woods which looks like a moonshine maker which I decided to put 12,000L of Cracked Corn in. Which I suppose i should keep off the books being illegal.
I had to buy some food for my animals.

Then I mowed my grass pasture for first cut hay then I went seed and lime shopping while the local precision farming contractor soil tested my harvested fields.

Looks like you'll be getting ready for fall tillage. Would you like to demo any cultivators or plows for a few hours?
We can also demo a tractor with it, if you need extra horsepower. Anything on the lot, you just let me know.

December January and FebruaryWell it was nice getting a call from an online dealer offering a demo tractor and fall tillage but unfortunately the weather forecast doesn't look good. I did though managed to cultivate field 8 and half of field 6 before the snow fell about the correct time to sell off 11,411L of oats for $7,176. January was the same snow storm after snow storm, in-between the snow storms I managed to sell the remaining corn for $29,991 and I bought 100 adult chickens and a Rooster for $1,505. February rolled in started off being cold and snowing then became mild before snowing yet again while I sell off 17,000L of Sunflowers for $14,514. Did have the soil testing company out to test Field 6

MarchWell I managed to finish off the cultivation on field 6 and lime both field 6 and 8. I sold the first pallet off eggs for $1,658. I have also taken a contract with a farmer in Bloomfield Canada to help him do his contracting business when I'm not busy on my farm. The deal is I get 20% of the contract income I ended up cultivating Anhydrous ammonia in one of his two fields before cultivating 2 neighbouring farmers field. This month I got $7,146. I have been contacted by the online dealer again and I have a nice New Holland T6.175 and Kinzie 3600 Planter on Demo.

AprilWell the demo tractor and planter has arrived, I went an bought the seed and fertiliser I need for Field 6 (Soybeans) and Field 8 (corn). Unfortunately the grass field wasn't ready to mow for first cut silage. The tractor was nice and comfortable and was nice to have gps as well but with the budget so tight its going to be a while before we can afford a nice new tractor of any brand. I had to pop down to the local dealer to pick up some chicken feed and saw and bought something that wasn't to be missed. I will collect it next month after the local dealer services it. Well it was time to head to Bloomfield to help with their soybean planting and help do some contract planting and fertilising for $9,890.

MayWell I bought a used John Deere 7810 with the firewater money will be keeping it out of sight from the current owners for now. Straight away it went on the mower to cut first cut silage and I got carried away and forgot to send the drone up to catch the tractor at picking up the grass windrows. I then went to Bloomfield to drive their Kenworth truck while they do contract harvests.

AugustWell, the finance sheets are completed for last year, total money spent was $89,253 and total money income was $125,384 with a profit margin of $36,131. With the 60% ($21,678) of the profit going to the owners and 40% ($14,453) to me. I borrowed a neighbour's truck and livestock trailer to bring in 12 new brown-swiss cows for $13,200. I then went on cut second cut hay which I sold straight to the livestock auction for a total $10,784. I helped cart for another neighbour farm harvest which he gave me $15k then I went to Canada to do the same. Next month there will be a big project that improves the farm massively.

I then did a third cut silage before driving up to bloomfield which will be the last time as their youngest cousin has finished University and now wants to help so they no longer need me so i will have to find another source of income to replace this one.
