One of the biggest changes coming to the forum is how we handle contract work. MOST of the features of this system should work well enough with FS19 as well.
One of the new changes is to have external contracts. These contracts will be completed by the contract holder (player) in their own game. To participate all you have to do is sign the contract by commenting accepted. It is the contract creators responsibility to update the contract details (filling in the contract holders name and any agreed upon details and then assign a shipping location on your map(s) to deliver the product to complete the contract. It is the responsibility of both parties (or more depending on the nature of the contract) to adjust your personal balances as this is still a rough area for console users. Please refer to the guides in the help section for tips on how to manage your bank roll on consoles. I am updating them just as soon as I get to them, but there is a ton to do atm and the guides still hold merit, except the values on RSM signs. Bartering is an acceptable form of contract payment but the details must be agreed upon before the contract is started. Once a contract is started, the contract holder is entitled to their payment, even if the other party is MIA or unavailable to otherwise fulfill their end.
Another new contract will be long term external contracts. These will typically be created by folks working at the trader. The principle is the same as regular external contracts except the contract will end at a set time as opposed to when a set amount of product/material is delivered. There is no limit to the amount of contract holders in this type of contract. Just sign your contract and deliver the goods. The only difference is to get paid, you must return to the contract and put how much was delivered. With this type of contract, we will accept deliveries only once per real-time day per contract holder so make sure you have finished delivering all you want before putting your total in the contract.
But wait..... there's more! I didn't forget municipal contracts. If you make a map suggestion, we will check the map out. If it has the features in place for roleplay, we will add it to the list of maps. From there we can/will offer permanent contracts for snow removal, mowing, etc. These contracts move at your pace with your game. There is no limit. Just do the job when it needs done and get paid. Simply sign the contract and get started. Once you have had your fill of it, just cancel the contract by commenting CANCELED.
Single use contracts will be another. These contracts are for small random jobs. A tree trimming/removal job. Someone needs firewood. Maybe someone needs their road salted before the big snow storm hits. Things like that. Accept the contract, complete the job, complete the contract by signing complete and get paid. Simple and sweet!
Now the big one. JOB CONTRACTS. These jobs will be created in an official capacity by FSCT but users are more than encouraged to engage as well. These will be cross platform multiplayer jobs that must be hosted by the contract creator. Each will be a custom created scenarios complete with a bit of backstory and we have to complete as a team. These jobs will involve an evolving line of equipment to use at the site and will only begin at a designated time once all the contract positions have been filled. We will travel far and wide to complete jobs all over the world. Another neat feature is I have started trying to recruit actual farmers as advisors from around our big ol globe as well as utilizing online information to make sure we are doing the jobs in accordance with local laws and practices. Each job will only involve a handful of mods each time so getting ready for the job should be pretty straight forward for anyone with an ok internet connection. The WILL be cross platform unless stated by the contract creator.
IF this takes off the way I would like, my wife and I have agreed to rent a dedicated server just for the forum but that is a bit down the road. On account of my health, money is a bit tight and I will not spend it unless I am sure folks will use it. This system will involve permanent and temporary positions working for the FSCT Farm. But one thing at a time.
I will be creating contract templets to copy and paste to streamline the whole process.
MORE TO COME!
