As you see "Buddy" is turning dirt and heads. Our 🌽 is in and we picked up a few planting contracts for various locals including Lucas who decided to diversify with cotton for some unbeknown reason. Last I heard cows don't eat my shorts. Mrs Frankfurter said Dr thinks it may be Alzheimer's causing problems which is dangerous with his ❤️ conditions and meds. Will have to keep checking in regularly to help. Also I believe it's high time to throw $150,000 to Bry for our debt

I forgot to mention, with your last payment, you're down to $350,000 left to go.
Almost there!

Back on the farm. Nothing much in the way of progress. Borrowed Lucas' mixer to shred my straw bales and stored the loose straw in the hayloft. Plan to run a few loads to the BGA and sell on the digestate for some extra cash. Apart from that just been keeping the animals happy. Lucas' heifers are starting to calve, first one was born early this morning.

Thanks to Bry for hooking me up with a sweet Jack Moose Mow-IT 👍. Really needed something to keep the yard and hill tidy. Swung by Lucas' to give his yard a tidy too. Chet used it to mow his lawn and his neighbours, who paid him $200. Chet wanted to to split it but I told him to keep it as he did all the work and I wanted to run it in and get a few hours up on it to see how it holds up.

Mow It works well thanks Bry. Now in early as autumn Chet and I have been doing quite a lot of fertilizing contracts. Got a couple of cuts on our grass fields, most we wrapped for silage but some got dried for hay (still have a little grass waiting to dry over at Lucas'. Speaking of Lucas' he has asked if we can supply feed and care for his dairy herd as he cannot manage himself. In return he said we can have all the manure and slurry produced to sell at the biogas plant. This works for me as I have decided to keep my grass fields organic and would like to use digestate to fertilize. Corn has not sprouted yet which is worrying as I just purchased a second harvester to get the corn cut in spring, looks like my plans may have been stopped dead by mother nature.

Contract work spraying and fertilizing is continuing. Got the hay baled and stored over at Lucas' whose cows are doing well, have had a few new births. On the subject of animals 2 young girls who purchased the old pellet hall land have built a house and storage silo for contractors to use recently decided to setup a small horse yard for their 2 showjumpers. I have been askedif I can train and feed their horses every 2nd day in return for free use of storage. Of course I agreed. At a recent benefit auction was a beautiful truck that I wanted so bad but only had 100,000 to spare, sadly I was outbid... But to my surprise I received a call saying dealership had an item turn up for me. Rolled up to the shop to find a shiny new Princess Jessi Special Roadrunner 🤩. It is absolutely amazing, looks great but the sound... Woah boy it is sooo good, From start up to Jake brakes to idle down it is the best sounding truck ever. THANK YOU FISHERJ 👍👍 ibb.co/QXRJNZ9ibb.co/608rR1sI also purchased a matching low loader to get my new JD home. Im sure I will have more pictures and plenty more things for this beast to haul.

So far the Roadrunner hasnt had much work, used it for a few transport contracts although using the lowloader to move the Fendt and a few pallets around feels a little like overkill. Just wrapped up a big soybean contract where I leased a big ol West 95000L trailer so she got to haul her first grains. Been making decent money from fertilizing contracts that Chet has been doing. Got a call from the livestock market saying sheep where selling for lowest price this year so I purchased the old drive-in theatre for $75000 and had 2 pastures and shelters built. Then I borrowed Lucas' old animal trailer which holds 4 sheep and a few trips later I now have 30 Dorset's to care for. While speaking to Lucas he informed me his cotton is ready to harvest and he has arranged to borrow some harvesting gear from a fellow farmer. Our crop of corn however which was planted before summer still hasn't progressed beyond "germinated" and it is now mid autumn.Might have to cut the losses and put some winter wheat in instead.

Bit of a bittersweet blog today. Good news first. Decided 30 sheep was not enough so hired a Wilson Silverstar to pick up another 70 head (the 4 head trailer would of taken too many trips) a slight miscalculation on my part and we now have 101 head of Dorsets. Had plenty of hay in storage so they are well fed and hopefully we will get a nice load of wool next spring. Lucas' borrowed gear for the cotton harvest arrived, old school JD 9996 basket picker, Boll buggy, module builder and module trailer, my fave way of getting cotton off. After a few warm up runs I set Chet off in the picker while I drove the buggy and operated the builder. Ended upfinishing around 8pm and got 63000L from the 20acre field. Lucas' was impressed so on top of payment he gave us 8000L to sell ourselves. I took of in the buggy to sell it making an extra $17000, We left the rest of the gear on the side of field as we had a big sowing contract Chet wanted to get done. Upon returning to Lucas' to park the Boll buggy I noticed the harvester had been moved into his big shed and could hear the builder was running up near the field. I definitely remembered turning it off so when to take a look. Once there I shut off the builder and turned out the lights, then just as I was about to leave I heard a faint moan... I climbed up to investigate and found Lucas lying in an unnatural position on the hard dirt inside the builder, as I climbed down I could see a bone sticking through his leg and a rather large puddle of blood I immediately rang emergency services to send an ambulance, then Lucas' wife. When she got there Lucas' was barely conscious, god knows how long he had been there. The ambulance arrived quickly and took him and the distraught Mrs Freeda Frankfurter to hospital. Before she left Freeda asked if I would mind looking after the farm for them during his recovery.
Oh almost forgot amidst all the drama.. Final $200,000 has been sent over to Bryan.

OMG I even get a real deed title. Thank you sir. It has been a hard road but I finally made it. I think it will be time for a clearing sale soon, need to free up some space (slots) in the sheds and turn my attention to saving up for more property.

Yeah now I'm outta debt it's time to go big or go home, think I'm also going to want a bourgualt seeder, flexicoil, the big JD self-propelled sprayer/spreader, West trailer, the new monster size Lizard auger wagon and a giant JD harvester with air bar.. I hope Santa thinks I've been a good boy and gives me lots of contracts and some crop that actually grows so I can afford it all. ATM I am sitting around $50,000 so hopefully soon I will be putting in some orders. Also I am going to have a lot of gear to sell so I better get busy listing some of it.

Rather a sad day today, received a call from Freeda with some bad news. Lucas had lost a lot of blood putting his bad heart under a lot of stress and during surgery he went into cardiac arrest, doctors were unable to stabilise him and he passed away. Freeda wants to move back to Europe to be with her family as she is on her own, they had no children and Lucas' family all live in Europe also. So she has offered to sell me the entire farm for $750,000. I explained I don't have that much but she said I can pay it off, it was the least she could do after all the help I had given. She already has flight booked for tomorrow as Lucas' body will be taken to Europe tlfor funeral and to be buried in his family's hometown.

I have been trying to work out what gear of Lucas' to keep and what can go. Might put his pickup and small cattle trailer for sale, but as for his Ferguson... That and attachments are being sent to FisherJ a fellow farmer fresh from Ag University. Lately not much farm work has occurred due to all the drama but hopefully next blog I will have done some work.

Well it's over I think... Everything is levelled, silo is 2 fields away, livestock dead, sheds destroyed and house. What house?? It's all gone.
Ok not all, I'm sure some things are salvageable. I know the Roadrunner our new Princess Jessi special held her own against nature in the open. Big Buddy is also poking his head out the top of the ruins without a dent or any smashed glass.
Chet's house is damaged but not destroyed, have been staying with him until I decide what to do. He speaks of his cousin, I feel he misses family and will likely be going elsewhere.
Ironically going to take the Roadrunner PJS over to pull out the ol Fendt4S for Jessi this afternoon.
Insurance evaluation is in a few days so I will need to make some big decisions.

Thank you, from what I can tell it only has body damage. But it was in a timber shed so there is a fair bit of large timber on-top of it. Just dragging it out will cause more damage. Do you think your guy will mind waiting for me to get it out so I can send it to you to check it over before it goes to Jessi

Well this is what I'm leaving with, ibb.co/2hNR1wCGoodbye West ridge, I'm taking my insurance payout and hitting the road. Heard of a place not too far away called Eureka Farms where they run highly modified gear, might get some work or find a bit of land I can afford with the $2.75 million payout. Will let you all know how things go.
