As you all should be aware, none of what we do here would be possible without PB! They are a free forum hosting service that relies entirely on donations and primarily ad revenue.... And they do an amazing job all things considered... I learned recently that this forum even has features that Giants dedicated paid forum doesn't.. From my end there are all kinds of amazing things I could do for you all but I dont as most of the really cool stuff will only work on pc and I dont want to exclude anyone but none the less... They have never asked me for anything (except that time they asked me to keep my ad blocker turned off which I happily did for this site)...
Thing is... I have deliberately avoided talking about covid on here... Thats not what this forum is about.. Not to mention that I have received messages from the PB about making sure to stop the spread of misinformation and what have you and I have been more than happy to do my part in squashing this so... we dont talk about it.. to be honest there really isnt much need.. Thats not what this forum is about.. This sort of thing doesnt and will never exist in the fs world..
So why am I talking about it now? Well when this started started in 2020 even I noticed that at certain points many of the ad windows usually filled with wonderful dresses and clothes (google knows me so well <3 ) were.. for the first time..... empty... I had wondered what was up but assumed that the program that inserts the ads just wasnt working (its had some minor issues in the past)... more and more often these spots r empty now but thankfully not always... I got a message this morning.. I get a lot of the same message you guys do but they are different as a forum owner.. Todays message was asking for my help.. They have been doing this for 20 years with 9 people... 9 people with families and lives.. responsibilities and hobbies.. needs.. so on and so forth.. Without hesitation wifey whips the CC out of her purse and I threw $50 at the problem.. Why would I pay for a free forum!? Because this free forum has provided me...... US... with countless hours of entertainment and enjoyment... Without them we would be trying to do this on fb or something which I have been told likely would absolutely not work for what we are trying to do here.. I believe if something is worth your time, its worth your money.. So.. there it is!
I don't expect any of you to donate! But if any of you were to, I believe it goes toward something worthwhile.. towards the future of this forum and so many others.. I have put my money towards a reason for a LOT of people to smile during such dark times.. Forums like this are an escape for so many of us and places like this are an absolute staple during times of isolation and uncertainty.. It helps bring people together...
If you want to donate please let me know as I am trying to find the information to do so.. The link on my end is different as a forum owner/operator/thingy/whatever but I am working on finding the proper link for everyone but if anyone knows where it is off hand, drop the link below!
