Just an idea i had.
Was wondering if the office in Sussex is able to do a lease on some greenhouses in the area. I'm building up from Abbots farm in the SE. I know I can use greenhouses without owning land, but for realisms sake I have been doing business privately leasing as i cant afford the land.
However just realised I could lease via your office, so you get a commission to. Daily,seasonally or annually however would be easiest on your end. I know the office is short staffed so there is no rush.

I love the idea.. but it brings up the question, what would be a fair leasing price for a greenhouse?!

What is the hourly income? I doubt this info is posted anywhere but I will have a quick search.. then we can pro rate the leasing cost vs income per year which will depend on your season length

I have been paying 100k per fill-empty cycle of all greenhouses.
No idea if that is too little or to much, I know they pay fairly high, haven't kept track of it as I have been spending buckets getting farm started

without knowing the payout of them, 100k seems a bit steep to me.. *sigh* I really dont wanna sit at the pc but I am not seeing any other way to figure this out.. use a test save and try it

Okay I tested 3 greenhouses and all came back at
1000 per hour with water
2000 per hour with water and manure
24000/48000 per day
I am going to assume the rest are the same.
There are 6 greenhouses/vegetable gardens.
1xlemons @ free water
2xtomatoes @ Plumpton farm
1xvege @ Sussex farm
1xmushrooms @ Mahnew farm
1xvege @ Fruit & vege stall.
All 6 will pay 144000/288000 per day.

ok I waaaaay under estimated the payout of these greenhouses.. r they like the regular greenhouses or do they make pallets or what? what on earth has jim done lol

Regular greenhouses/vegetable beds that give hourly income.
However he has included transport contracts involving the these which spawn custom pallets of whatever is grown but that is entirely separate from the hourly income

I'm running 9 day seasons so might limit myself to one greenhouse or only use them throughout summer, at those rates I would be rich in a year and I don't want that. Lol

that is insane.. there is next to no work involved at all with these types of greenhouses and that income is waaaaaaaaay OP.. I cant help but feel like Jim didnt balance that at all.. you could literally buy pallets of poo and just do that and never even need to do anything else..
but thats just my opinion.. I am glad i know this so if I progress on sussex, I know to stay away from the greenhouses.. but back to the business.. how many day seasons do you play?

Yeah its way over the top for such little effort, I'm even considering 'cooking the books' to reduce the income they make. I was gobsmacked at the amount they generated, I kept adding it up and retesting thinking I made a mistake lol

Okay but be warned I am going to do the lease/return to reduce max income by 50% so fully supplied they will only make 24k each per day. I want to lease the vege stall greenhouse for this summer, 9 days

thanks Noraf.. I think people may forget that my ultimate idea when I made this went well beyond a swap site for fs.. its about having dynamic interactions.. roleplay.. a touch or 2 of realism added where there just isnt any in game.. and the ability to interact with our fellow virtual farmers in a way that actually impacts our farms.. there are soooo many ways we can do these things and this thread/deal is a really good example of that this is the kind of stuff I build this forum for.. this is what makes me happy.. the roleplay.. the interaction.. its amazing |
