Welcome to Graystone North CarolinaHi my name is frank.
Let me tell you my history, I used to do agriculture contracting for a copy of years and then I was offered a job in South Carolina for couple of years which brings me to here, i still work for the Cooper family just at another farm of theirs, to be precise their grandparents farm which is struggling and the grandparents can no longer farm. They have asked me to run the farm with the goal to make it profitable again.

October 2021So I sold all the hay bales for $17,498 ands i managed to plough all the arable fields for them. Sadly I have fallen out with the farm owners as they seem set in their old ways and wont let me change things to make the farm run more smoothly, so I have handed in my notice in to leave and i will look for a new job.

February and marchFebruary was just like January just snow ploughing.
March was a busy month buying the seed and fertiliser for the fields which leaves us with $8,686 in the bank, I cultivated the soybeen fields and rock picked all the fields and took the rocks to the community rock crusher which produces lime for everyone

AprilWhat a month, planted all the fields. half soybeans and half corn I ran out of solid fertiliser for the last field of soybeans so at a later date i will spread some liquid Fert on it. I have also rolled the fields. when we have enough money i think a fuel tank would be a good purchase as the john Deere 7710 was low on fuel luckily the dealer had 5 25l fuel cannisters i could buy

Been following your progress to date, and I have one question for you. What is the one thing the dealership could help you out with? I was thinking either 20% off your next fertilizer purchase (liquid or solid) or, we can get you that fuel storage tank for 15% off plus free help with installation, including landscaping services.
Or if you have something entirely different in mind let me know! I'd like to reward you for staying with us in the thin times.
Keep up the blogs!

I would like to take you up with your offer of 15% off a petrol pump. I would like a 5,000L litre tank which i believe off the manufactures website costs $5,300. I will send the money over shortly.

$5,300 minus a 15% discount leaves you $4,505 owing. I've sent a crew with all the materials for your complimentary installation. Just be sure to send us some pictures of the finished product!
Happy farming, Frank.

JuneWell time to spray some liquid nitrogen on my last field of soybeans. I then did some planting contracts to finish the planting season and one of the first harvest contracts as the harvest season begins. I went to a farm auction, ended up with a John Deere 620 tractor for $3,000. I bought a John Deere mulcher which I put straight to work on tiding up the long grass in front of the house that cost us $15,000 and spent another $17,500 on a item for the john deere 620. I was checking the sales price of soybeans which was above of last years peak at $1,241 per 1,000 litres which we got $28,799 which $20,000 went in to paying the loan back. we do need another way of transporting the grain to the co-ops

November DecemberWell I emptied the corn dryer and put the dry corn into our silo system which we have 78,059L. i spent the rest of the month mulching all the fields and ploughed the corn fields which i have rock picked just ran out of time to lime them which will have to wait till next month.
Unfortunately December it never stopped snowing so i spent most of the time in the house till the dry corn price reaches its peak which it did $695 per 1,000L we got $54,295 which will go towards seeds, solid and liquid fertiliser and maybe any more lime we need. I would like to buy another equipment to improve our yields or another trailer to cart more grain.

Congrats on taking over the farm, though I wish it were under better circumstances. As always, the dealership is here to assist you with whatever you need and we can of course finance anything we sell. I'm also authorized to extend an operating loan to you, if you just need a little cash for something or if you want to refinance any existing loans for lower interest.
Good luck, my friend.
